Active for victims of racist violence
Advice and support for people affected by right-wing, racist and antisemitic violence
LOBBI provides advice and support throughout Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for people affected by right-wing, racist, antisemitic and other forms of bias-motivated violence.
Our services are free of charge and confidential. You can contact us anonymously if you wish. We are independent of the police, public authorities and political parties.
You decide what kind of support you want. We will not take any steps without discussing them with you first.
Who can contact us?
You can contact LOBBI if you have experienced a right-wing, racist, antisemitic, anti-LGBTIQ* or other bias-motivated attack.
You can also contact us if you:
- witnessed an attack,
- are a relative, friend or supporter of someone affected,
- would like to report an attack,
- are unsure whether what happened to you should be considered a right-wing attack.
You do not have to report the incident to the police in order to receive advice or support from us.
How we can support you
We listen to you and discuss what you need. The support we provide depends on your situation and your wishes.
For example, we can:
- talk through what happened with you,
- provide information about your options after an attack,
- accompany you to the police, authorities, lawyers or court,
- help you find legal, medical, therapeutic or other specialist support,
- support you in dealing with authorities and other institutions,
- help you deal with the consequences of an attack,
- support you in making your experience public if you want to,
- help to organise solidarity and support in your local community.
Our work is centred on the perspective and needs of the people affected.
Language and accessibility
You do not have to speak German to contact us. Please tell us which language you would prefer to use. We will try to organise interpretation if necessary.
If you have other accessibility requirements, please let us know so that we can find a suitable way to communicate with you.
Report an attack
Many right-wing attacks never become publicly known. Reporting an incident to LOBBI helps us document right-wing violence in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and make the experiences of those affected visible.
You can report an attack even if:
- you do not want counselling,
- you do not know who the perpetrators were,
- you have not reported the incident to the police,
- you are reporting something that happened to another person.
Information submitted to LOBBI is treated confidentially.
How LOBBI documents right-wing violence
LOBBI monitors right-wing, racist and antisemitic violence in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. We collect information from people affected, witnesses and civil society as well as from media reports and police information.
The perspective of those affected is particularly important to us. Whether an incident is included in our statistics does not depend on whether it was reported to the police or officially classified as politically motivated.
Our monitoring uses defined criteria to assess attacks and to make developments in right-wing violence visible.
Financial support and compensation after an attack
People affected by right-wing violence may face financial costs as a direct consequence of an attack. These may include damage to property or necessary follow-up costs, such as moving home or taking additional security measures.
Depending on the circumstances, there may also be other possibilities for financial compensation. We can advise you about these options and help you find out which forms of support may be available in your case.
LOBBI also has a support fund that can provide financial assistance in certain situations. The fund is financed exclusively through donations and fines.
If you need financial support following an attack, please contact us.
